Description

A graphic novel by Ole Pihl about the painter couple Hedvig and Oluf Høst’s visit to Bornholm and their meeting with the Danish Expressionists just before the outbreak of the First World War.

An expressionist bombardment of color inspired by the style of Oluf Høst, which makes the reader a little wiser about the Danish Expressionists’ fascination with Cézanne, about van Gogh’s colors, complementary colors that create space, and the break with the Impressionist tradition of Danish painters Krøyer, Tuxen, and Ancher.

With an afterword about Oluf Høst and the theory of complementary colors.
