A chair came to live with a girl. But as the girl used the chair to ride on, it ran away from home and ended up in a furniture store. The shop keeper loved to listen to the chair’s stories but as the chair was new it didn’t have much to tell and was put up for sale. One by one, the chairs were sold except for the girl’s chair. The chair now longed for the girl. But then one day something happened…

Niels RolandDebut in 1986 with The Studio (Atelieret), short satirical comics about a group of frustrated young artists. In 1990, 50 years after the German occupation, Roland, Morten Hesseldahl and Henrik Rehr made five volumes of Denmark Occupied (Danmark Besat), each covering one year of the occupation. Since then Niels has concentrated on daily and weekly comics for Danish newspapers, in recent years mainly Weekendavisen.
