The comic unfolds the scientific discoveries and significance of this unique figure in Danish and European science—a true universal genius: astronomer, physicist, mathematician, engineer, geodesist, inventor, administrator under the absolute monarchy, and protector of society’s most vulnerable.
We follow him from his early years as a student, when his work on publishing Tycho Brahe’s observational journals and his studies on the island of Hven led him to Paris. There, he quickly became a highly respected astronomer at the Paris Observatory and a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences. He served as tutor to Louis XIV’s heir, the Grand Dauphin, and worked on the fountain system at the Sun King’s new palace, Versailles.
Bjørk Matias FriisBjørk is a selftaught illustrator and comic artist, working from Copenhagen. His works are mostly historical in nature, with a flair of mythology, mystique and the fantastical.
A lot of his works dives into the heart of old cultures and myths, and seeks to interpret and retell ancient tales not usually put in the spotlight by modern media.
Having worked with several historical museums in both Denmark and Germany, Bjørks craft has also been made into educational material and animation. His comic book series “Tall Tales of Midgard” will had it’s fourth volume out in spring, 2025.

Flemming Hansen
Flemming is a civil engineer and holds a PhD in electronics and satellite communications. He is an amateur astronomer, a senior consultant with his own company, RadioLab Consulting, and has spent many years researching the life and work of Ole Rømer.

Description
Four high school students have formed a “laziness lodge” with the ignoble purpose of getting through high school physics classes as effortlessly as possible. But soon they begin receiving letters from a mysterious “F” with invitations to meet at various landmarks and locations in Copenhagen, only to be tricked into attending lectures on different aspects of the history of Physics. Every time “F” manages to escape, and they decide to work together to reveal their antagonist’s true identity.

Frank MadsenA creator of children’s books and graphic novels – notably the adventures of Kurt Dunder – Frank Madsen is an award-winning cartoonist and three times Best Danish Comics Author nominée. Author of the weekly satirical cartoon Eks Libris since 2010.
Frank has also written the popular picture books for children Snus Mus about a mouse detective, with illustrations by Sussi Bech.
