Something Awful Is Always About To Happen wins award for best script

Lars Kramhøft receiving the “Best Danish Comics Author in 2020” Claus Deleuran Award.

The Claus Deleuran Awards was handed out last Sunday at Bogforum, the annual Danish book in Copenhagen attracting more than 30000 guests. The prize ceremony took place in the comics area with nominees contesting in five categories:

Best Danish Album in 2020:
• I MORGEN BLIVER BEDRE 2: DRONNINGEN by Karoline Stjernfelt
• NOGET FRYGTELIGT ER ALTID LIGE VED AT SKE by Lars Kramhøft
• ØRSTED – HAN SATTE STRØM TIL VERDEN by Sussi Bech, Jens Olaf Pepke Pedersen and Ingo Milton

Best Danish Album Debut in 2020:
• MIN NAT MED DIG by Tomas Lagermand Lundme and Fred Tornager
• INFECTION VOL.1: RYGNING FORBUDT by Casper Sand
• HARALD BLÅTAND by Nikolaj Lauritzen
• LEGENDEN OM RIDDER IVAN by Jonas Doctor

Best Danish Comics Artist in 2020:
• SUSSI BECH
• KAROLINE STJERNFELT
• PETER SNEJBJERG

Best Danish Comics Author in 2020:
• LARS KRAMHØFT
• SUSSI BECH
• FRANK BRUUN MADSEN

Best Danish Comics Colourist in 2020:

The winners

The winner of the “Best Author” category was Lars Kramhøft, who last year published the acclaimed Something Awful Is Always About To Happen autobiography about a young man trying to find love and success in the brutally competitive creative world.

“Best Danish Album Debut” was Tomas Lagermand Lundme and Fred Tornager’s “Min nat med dig” (My Night with you) from Fahrenheit. Karoline Stjernfelt won three prizes for “Best Danish Album”, “Best Artist” and “Best Colourist” for her work on “I morgen bliver bedre – Dronningen” (Tomorrow will be better – The Queen) from Cobolt Comics.
